Class ScatteringAtmosphereModel

java.lang.Object
com.luciad.maps.effects.AtmosphereModel
com.luciad.maps.effects.ScatteringAtmosphereModel
All Implemented Interfaces:
AutoCloseable

public final class ScatteringAtmosphereModel extends AtmosphereModel implements AutoCloseable
Atmosphere model that draws a physically based Rayleigh/Mie scattering sky.

This requires a geocentric 3D view and a light configured through GraphicsEffects#getLight. Without both, the effect falls back to the gradient model. Rendering it has a minor additional performance cost compared to the gradient model.

  • Method Details

    • finalize

      protected void finalize()
      Overrides:
      finalize in class AtmosphereModel
    • close

      public void close()
      Specified by:
      close in interface AutoCloseable
      Overrides:
      close in class AtmosphereModel
    • newBuilder

      @NotNull public static ScatteringAtmosphereModel.Builder newBuilder()
      Creates a new builder with the default scattering parameters.
      Returns:
      a new builder.
    • asBuilder

      @NotNull public ScatteringAtmosphereModel.Builder asBuilder()
      Creates a builder pre-filled with this model's parameters.
      Returns:
      a builder pre-filled with this model's parameters.
    • getBrightness

      public double getBrightness()
      Returns the scattering brightness.
      Returns:
      the scattering brightness.
    • getRayleighFactor

      public double getRayleighFactor()
      Returns the Rayleigh scattering strength.
      Returns:
      the Rayleigh scattering strength.
    • getMieFactor

      public double getMieFactor()
      Returns the Mie scattering strength.
      Returns:

    • isAerialPerspectiveEnabled

      public boolean isAerialPerspectiveEnabled()
      Returns whether aerial perspective is enabled, tinting the terrain surface in addition to the sky.

      Aerial perspective is the phenomenon where distant terrain takes on the atmosphere's color and fades toward the horizon with distance.

      Returns:
      whether aerial perspective is enabled, tinting the terrain surface in addition to the sky.
