What is LGSx data?
LGSx is a reality capture file format made available by Leica Geosystems. LGSx files archive a complete reality project in a single, highly compressed package, which makes it easy to share and view the project. An LGSx file may consist of point clouds, imagery, assets, and metadata. The latest versions of Register 360, Cyclone 3DR and Pegasus Office can export data to the LGSx format.
LuciadFusion can handle these data types inside the LGSx files:
-
Point cloud data, stored as packed HSPC data
-
Panorama data
It doesn’t support any of the other data types stored in an LGSx file.
The LGS format isn’t supported, but a tool is available to transform LGS to LGSx. You can download it from myWorld.
Which reference is used for the data in an LGSx file?
Point cloud data
For point cloud data stored as packed HSPC data in an LGSx file, LuciadFusion uses the reference stored in the metadata of the packed HPSC file.
Panorama data
For panorama data, the reference information stored in the LGSx file isn’t used. By default, LuciadFusion handles the panorama data in cartesian space. The coordinates of panoramic images are first transformed to the default UCS (User Coordinate System) found in the LGSx file. By default, the resulting coordinates are handled in cartesian space. You can override this by putting an external reference next to the LGSx file. If an external reference is available, LuciadFusion handles the coordinates in that reference.
How to publish LGSx data?
-
You can publish the point cloud data in an LGSx file as an HSPC Service.
-
You can publish the panoramics data in an LGSx file as a Panoramics Service.
