Terms of use

The specific use of the Bing Maps service is subject to Microsoft’s terms of use, which may change from time to time. Therefore, for all the latest and official Microsoft licensing conditions and terms of use, please contact Microsoft directly. Refer to the “Microsoft Bing Maps Platform API Terms of Use”, which can be found at http://www.microsoft.com/maps/product/terms.html.

Attribution

The terms of use may require displaying a logo and copyright notices. At the time of writing, the Bing Maps tutorials fulfill the necessary requirements to display this information.

License keys

You need a Bing Maps key to make use of the Bing Maps model decoder. You can obtain these keys through the Bing Maps developer portal at http://www.bingmapsportal.com.

See How to obtain a Bing Maps key for detailed steps on how to obtain a key.

You can find more licensing information and contact experts at http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/maps/licensing/licensing-options. Such a license can be obtained directly from Microsoft, or through Microsoft’s Partner network. Prices may vary according to the volume of licenses purchased, the duration of the license and the intended scope of use.

Billable requests

The Bing Maps component is quite economical with respect to the number of billable requests. It typically makes only one billable request when you create a new Bing Maps layer. Panning or zooming does not cause additional requests.
