The information in this article applies only if you are using a LuciadLightspeed application as your WMS client, and if you are requesting non-tiled images for visualization in a GXY view.

Although the OGC WMS standards don’t support map rotation, the LuciadFusion WMS service does support it, by means of a custom GetMap request parameter angle. Using this parameter, WMS clients can indicate a map rotation in degrees, measured clockwise around the center of the map. Applying a rotation in the WMS server instead of in the WMS client ensures the proper orientation of labels and other objects with an absolute orientation. For example, you typically want to visualize labels with an upright orientation for optimal readability, as illustrated in Figure 1, “Server-side rotation of a WMS image”.
