You can add one data type to an MBTiles service: MBTiles data

You can add raster and vector MBTiles data.

An MBTiles service can contain only 1 product, with 1 MBTiles dataset in it.

Style MBTiles data with Mapbox style files

If LuciadFusion registered a Mapbox style file along with the MBTiles file, the MBTiles service automatically picks it up and makes it available. For a Mapbox style file to be registered, it must:

  • Reside in the same directory as the MBTiles file.

  • Have the same base name as the MBTiles file, but with a .json extension instead of .mbtiles.
For example, if your MBTiles file is countries.mbtiles, the style file should be named countries.json.

LuciadFusion automatically picks up such a companion style file along with the MBTiles data file when it crawls a data root. If you add the MBTiles data yourself, you must select the MBTiles data file as well as its companion style file.

If the MBTiles service finds an accompanying style file:

  • The tile.json response includes a style property pointing to the style file URL.

  • The style file and any referenced sprite resources (PNG and JSON files) are served by the MBTiles service.

  • Relative sprite URLs in the style file are automatically rewritten to absolute URLs.
