A remote desktop solution provides you with the flexibility to connect to a remote computer or virtual machine over the network. LuciadLightspeed supports remote desktop connections as well, but some solutions like Windows Remote Desktop don’t offer full or direct access to the GPU driver. This limitation can cause glitches, decreased performance, or exceptions such as WGL_ARB_pbuffer is not supported on this system.

For applications built around the GPU-accelerated Lightspeed view, we recommend using a remote desktop solution that streams a video feed. TightVNC and NoMachine are two examples that work in combination with GPU acceleration.

Luciad products are also certified to work on NVIDIA vGPU systems with virtualization and remote desktop solutions from Citrix and VMWare. See here for more information.
